Introduction

Watercooling is the next step up from air cooling which usually brings with it less noise and more effective cooling. Most users move over to water cooling to help with overclocking so you can get more performance for less money. PowerColor have just announced their Radeon X800GT EVO which utilizes the ThermalTake Tide Water cooling solution for a factory watercooled graphics card - it's something we don't typically see from Taiwanese companies but it's great to see something different.

We looked at the performance of the stock PowerColor X800GT just the other day and today we will be looking at the more aggressively clocked X800GT EVO. We will be comparing the performance of the X800GT EVO (with higher shipping clock speeds and overclocked even further) against the standard PowerColor X800GT with standard ATI reference clock speeds.

Let's have a look at what the EVO offers us and why PowerColor are making such a big noise about it.
